1. What should I wear during setup?
- Wear comfortable clothing that you don’t mind getting dirty.
- Closed-toe shoes are mandatory for safety.
- Avoid loose clothing that could get caught in equipment.
2. What should I bring to my shift?
- A water bottle to stay hydrated.
- A snack or lunch, as breaks will be provided.
- Your enthusiasm and a positive attitude!
3. What are the typical hours for setup shifts?
- Setup shifts can vary and may be inconsistent. Typical hours are from 8 AM to 5 PM, but be prepared for some early starts or late finishes.
- Expect longer days as we approach the store opening.
4. What will I be doing during setup?
- Unloading Shipments: Help unload boxes and pallets of merchandise and fixtures from delivery trucks. Be prepared to work in hot trucks.
- Assembling Fixtures: Assist in assembling shelves, racks, and displays using snap fixtures according to provided diagrams.
- Merchandising: Place items on shelves and racks in an organized manner in accordance with provided planograms.
- Setting Up ISEs (In-Store Experiences): Create themed displays and set up animatronics following store plans.
- Dealing with Trash and Cardboard: Break down and dispose of cardboard and other trash regularly to keep the workspace organized.
- Organizing Backroom: Arrange the stockroom to ensure efficient access to inventory.
5. Do I need any prior experience or special skills?
- No prior experience is necessary. Training will be provided on-site.
- Basic assembly skills and the ability to follow instructions are helpful.
6. Who will be my point of contact?
- Your Store Manager or Assistant Manager will be your primary point of contact.
- They will provide direction and answer any questions you may have.
7. How will I know what to do?
- Detailed setup plans and diagrams will be provided.
- Your manager will give you specific tasks and instructions.
- Don’t hesitate to ask questions if you’re unsure about something.
8. What safety precautions should I follow?
- Always lift with your legs, not your back, to avoid injury.
- Be aware of your surroundings and watch out for tripping hazards.
- Only use company-provided tools and equipment. Knives, blades, or box cutters other than the company-provided tape splitters are strictly prohibited.
- Stay hydrated, especially when working in hot trucks.
9. What are the break policies?
- 10-minute paid break after 4 hours of work.
- 30-minute unpaid lunch break after 5 hours of work.
- Another 10-minute paid break after 8 hours of work.
10. What happens if there’s a lag between setup completion and store opening?
- There may be a lag between the completion of setup and the store opening. During this time, there will be no work available at the setup location.
- Employees who are able to travel can pick up shifts at other builds and open stores in the area. Stay in touch with your manager for these opportunities.
11. What happens after the setup is complete?
- Once the setup is complete, you will transition to an in-store employee role. Your duties will shift to customer service, stocking, and maintaining the store.
- Your hard work during setup is essential and can lead to more opportunities within the store.
12. What are my responsibilities as a Sales Associate?
- Greet and assist customers, providing excellent customer service.
- Stock shelves, maintain store displays, and keep the store organized according to planograms.
- Operate the cash register, handle transactions, and manage returns.
- Demonstrate knowledge of store products to help customers make informed decisions.
- Practice suggestive selling by offering related items to build multiple sales.
- Maintain high standards of integrity, quality, and timeliness.
- Follow all company policies and procedures.
13. What are the Loss Prevention (LP) policies I should be aware of?
- All associates are subject to pocket and bag checks any time they exit the store, whether for breaks, at the end of a shift, or when taking out the trash.
- Follow all LP policies and procedures to ensure the safety and security of the store.
14. What are the policies on drugs and alcohol?
- Drugs (including marijuana in any form, including vapes, even in legal states) and alcohol are strictly prohibited from company premises.
